Conversations About Mark Rogovin
After the recent retrospective of Mark’s art and activism at Uri-Eichen Gallery, Michelle was inspired to collect interviews of people who Mark worked with on his different projects and who knew him throughout his life.
Interview with Marianne Philbin
Peace Museum
The first person to be interviewed for this project was Marianne Philbin who worked with Mark in the very beginning of the Peace Museum. In her interview she tells stories of first meeting Mark and his enthusiastic vision for the Peace Museum when it was just a raw space, his ability to draw in volunteers, and some of their favorite exhibits.
Interview with Ted Pearson
Ted Pearson and Mark Rogovin met when Mark first arrived in Chicago in 1968, running in the same activist circles they maintained a friendship for 51 years. Ted was a writer for the Daily Worker and wrote about many of Mark’s projects over those years.
